About The Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC)

The Port Management Association of the Caribbean P.M.A.C. conducted its inaugural meeting in Antigua on 26th June 1998 having succeeded the Port Management Association of the Eastern Caribbean P.M.A.E.C. established on 16th May 1988.

The major objective of PMAC is to improve the proficiency of member ports and the quality of services offered to their users, specifically through the facilitation of relevant training designed to maximize human resources, and effectively meet the ever increasing challenges of the global environment.

Moreover, amidst developments within the maritime industry, the Association strives to remain relevant by providing critical services to members, which entail the sharing of experience, information and ideas, as well as advocacy and representation at multilateral levels.

P.M.A.C.’S VISION:

  • To be recognised as an authoritative resource regarding port management and operations in the Caribbean.
  • To facilitate collaboration with as many of the regional ports in the development of training, including job attachment programs, and sharing of informational resources.
  • To be an advocate of member ports and a leader in the promotion of professionalism in port administration within the region.
  • To be a vehicle of integration for the development of a uniform and sustainable philosophy regarding the attainment of common objectives, within a framework of service excellence.
  • To emerge as a strong and vibrant organization, which can provide leadership in quality port performance by its Members.
  • To facilitate appropriate training which best meets the needs of member ports, as well as relevant research.
  • To establish mutually beneficial associations/alliances with other industry stakeholders.
