Dr Fritz Pinnock - First Jamaican To Win Prestigious Socrates Award

The annual branded event ‘Summit of Leaders, Oxford 2016’ was held under the aegis of Europe Business Assembly, The Academic Union, Oxford, ICL on the 20th of December 2016. For years the Summits of Leaders hosted in Oxford Town Hall have been a source of inspiration, learning and transformation for those who are looking to build better businesses and a better society. Traditionally Europe Business Assembly gathered together prominent academia, think tank, business icons, international leaders and CEOs, brilliant minds from 48 countries to discuss the issues and trends that will determine the future of education and business from.

The agenda included the plenary session with key-note speeches and presentations that highlighted current challenges in education management, an overview of The Academic Union, Oxford activities as well as presentation of training programmes of Business Training Center, Oxford. The presentations were divided into special sessions (academic and business) devoted to: ‘Innovative Solutions to Global Economic Challenges on a Regional Level’ and ‘Innovative Practices in Learning Process’. 

The guest star of the Summit was Minister of Higher Education and Training, Republic of South Africa Dr. Bonginkosi Nzimande. He spoke up on state educational initiatives and viable innovative approaches to education with government support in the Republic of South Africa.

Within the framework of The Socrates Award Ceremony best regional businesses, leading scientific and medical institutions with solid professional reputation shared success stories and received the deserved European recognition from international business and professional elite.

Europe Business Assembly (EBA), Oxford, UK was proud to award Dr. Fritz Pinnock, Executive Director of Caribbean Maritime Institute with the International Socrates Award. The solemn procedure of recognition was held at the Gala Ceremony in the framework of the Summit of Leaders, Oxford 2016.

Dr. Fritz Pinnock Receives Scorates Award.

The award demonstrates the highest level of professional achievement in relation to humanitarian goals, environmental awareness and business innovation. The award honours outstanding individuals who have made a positive contribution to the development of national economies, scientific innovation as well as business and cultural advancement.

Dr. Fritz Pinnock has achieved top results being the Executive Director of Caribbean Maritime Institute. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Sustainable Cruise Tourism from the University of the West Indies, Jamaica; a M.Sc. in International Shipping and Logistics from the University of Plymouth, United Kingdom and a B.Sc. (Hons.) in Economics and Accounting (Management Studies) from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, Jamaica. Pinnock is also a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics Transport, UK (FCILT) and a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute, UK (FCMI). He has been a Fellow of the British Institute of Management (MBIM) since 1991, and the Institute of Logistics and Distribution Management (MILDM). Dr. Fritz Pinnock is also a Justice of the Peace for Kingston. He is the recipient of the Prime Minister’s medal of appreciation for service to education, 2015; was the Jamaica Association for Administrative Professionals (JAAP) All-Island Boss of the year for 2013-2014 and is a Honorary Adviser of Shanghai Cruise Ship & Yacht Association. He is a Adjunct Professor at the University of Technology, Jamaica. Dr. Fritz Pinnock is also an author of several books.

Here in EBA we wish Dr. Fritz Pinnock new achievements in professional field and hope that Caribbean Maritime Institute will significantly benefit from the deserved EBA award and European recognition and will be inspired by it for further professional successful development and enhancement of the consumers’ credibility.
