ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA DEPARTMENT OF MARINE SERVICES
AND MERCHANT SHIPPING (ADOMS)


The Antigua and Barbuda Department of Marine Services and Merchant Shipping (ADOMS) is the Maritime Administration of Antigua and Barbuda and is responsible for the Ship Registry, with its principal/head office located in St. John’s, Antigua. It is supported by two branch offices in Germany- ADOMS Oldenburg, and ADOMS
IID/Elsfleth, operated by Meridian Shipping Service GmbH and MARCARE – Maritime Consulting and Research GmbH, respectively. In line with our strategic plan for the expansion and promotion of our services worldwide, satellite offices have been opened in the United Arab Emirates, Greece, Malta, and the USA.

The head office, with nineteen employees, is responsible for setting policy, legislation, ship registry, regional ship standards, local craft, and large yachts with the actual ship register located in St. John’s. ADOMS Oldenburg is responsible for the promotion, administration, and expansion, day-to-day operations, ship and mortgage registration
issues, as well as STCW 78 (as amended) certification matters with respect to the international ship registry in Germany. ADOMS IID Elsfleth is responsible for managing flag State inspection and investigation activities. ADOMS Dubai, ADOMS Piraeus, and ADOMS Valetta are all responsible for the promotion of the flag, registration of vessels,
and day-to-day flag administrative services in their respective geographical areas, while ADOMS Miami concentrates on the registration of yachts.
