Services :
The Tobago House of Assembly (THA) is the principal governing authority responsible for the administration, development and delivery of public services on the island of Tobago. Through its various divisions and departments, the THA provides a broad range of services and infrastructure that support economic development, transportation, tourism, community development, public utilities, environmental management, and social services. The Assembly operates under the Tobago House of Assembly Act and exercises responsibility for numerous functions traditionally undertaken by central government agencies in Tobago.
In support of transportation and maritime-related activities, the THA, through its relevant divisions, is involved in the coordination and monitoring of inter-island ferry services, cruise ship operations, air and sea connectivity, transportation planning, and the development and maintenance of public infrastructure. The Assembly works closely with national agencies and stakeholders to facilitate the movement of passengers and goods, enhance transportation networks, and support Tobago’s economic growth and tourism sector.
The THA maintains and operates a network of administrative offices, public facilities, community centres, multipurpose facilities, transportation infrastructure, tourism sites, and public service facilities across Tobago. These facilities support the delivery of government services, stakeholder engagement, training, meetings, community outreach, and developmental programmes. The Assembly also manages and oversees various public assets and infrastructure projects, including roads, public buildings, utilities, recreational facilities, and tourism-related amenities.
To support its operations, the THA utilizes a range of equipment and technological resources, including information and communication technology (ICT) systems, administrative and operational equipment, transportation assets, maintenance equipment, project management tools, and communications infrastructure. These resources facilitate efficient service delivery, infrastructure management, planning, stakeholder coordination, and the implementation of development initiatives throughout Tobago.
Through its commitment to sustainable development, effective governance, and service excellence, the Tobago House of Assembly continues to provide the institutional capacity, facilities, and operational resources necessary to support Tobago’s social and economic advancement, including activities related to transportation, tourism, trade facilitation, and regional collaboration within the Caribbean maritime sector.
