SERVICES
Multi-purpose general cargo port providing the following marine and cargo handling services.
Marine Services Department
- Pilotage (compulsory except for warships and small craft) and tug attendance (compulsory for vessels over 1,000 tons or 168m in length).
- Mooring and unmooring vessels.
- Provision of water and telephone service.
- Fire-fighting, rescue and salvage operations.
Terminal Operations Department
- Receipt and delivery of cargo, utlising a variety of cargo handling equipment.
- Storage of cargo awaiting delivery or shipment, in covered warehouses or open storage, which in the case of reefer containers is accommodated by 440V reefer plugs.
- Un-stuffing / stuffing containers.
- Sorting of cargo according to special requirements of consignee.
- Rental of cargo handling operations equipment e.g. forklifts etc.
- Priority access to block-stacked empty containers as requested by ship agents.
- Covering of cargo in open stacking areas.
- Cruise vessel operations including home porting hub for several vessels conducting full and partial exchanges of passengers, and accordingly, handling of luggage and ship stores.
